Updated June 26 2009 – Israel Mireles has been extradited to the US. Mireles arrived in the US on Thursday, June 25. He has been detained in custody. Mireles’ bond is $3 million as the county lawyer argued he has once absconded into Mexico.

Mireles told a jail inmate he planned to escape from custody by faking an illness and fleeing while being transferred from prison to hospital.

The preliminary hearing for Mireles is set on July 8.

Zoey Zane, an Internet porn model, was murdered. The Kansas attorney general’s office said Mexican authorities will extradite a male suspect in the murder of Zoey Zane. Zoey Zane’s real name was Emily Sander.

Israel Mireles was arrested in Melchor Muzquiz, Mexico last Dec 2007. He was detained pending extradition.

Mireles has been charged with capital murder, rape and aggravated criminal sodomy in the death of Zoey Zane, aka Emily Sander.

Zoey Zane, aka Emily Sander, was last seen alive Nov. 23 2007 after leaving a bar with a man. The police identified the man as Israel Mireles.

The disappearance Zoey Zane, aka Emily Sander, from Butler Community College, drew nationwide attention after the discovery that she also was an Internet pornography model who worked under the name of Zoey Zane.
