Zoe Shepherd: Zoe Shepherd arrested for cocaine (photo)
By Therese Lisieux on May 28th, 2009Zoe Shepherd, 19, a British teen, was arrested in Bolivia, South America. Shepherd was arrested on suspicion of smuggling cocaine. Shepherd was allegedly caught with 49 grams of cocaine. The penalty for cocaine is 1 year of prison for every gram. If Shepherd is convicted, she could get 49 years of prison. Shepherd is held in La Paz, in Bolivia.
Zoe Shepherd’s mother, Mandy Lemmon, of Manea, March, Cambridgeshire, refused to comment for the press. Shepherd was arrested 6 weeks ago, on April 13, 2009. The British Foreign Office in Bolivia is providing assistance to Zoe Shepherd.
