Zainab Bibi: Tall woman Bibi asks for asylum

Zainab Bibi is 7 feet 2 inches. Bibi claimed her tall height made her a target of abuse in her homeland, Pakistan. Zainab Bibi has applied for asylum in Britain. Bibi survives on benefits and was able to send money home. Bibi is expected to be given asylum.

Zainab Bibi’s friends beg to differ. Bibi’s family, friends and police in her Mandi Rajana village alleged Miss Bibi received celebrity status whenever she visited. Bibi asked for asylum when she was in Britain doing promotional work in June 2006. Zainab Bibi received a council apartment in Stockport and 40 pounds per week in benefits.

Sandy Allen, 7 feet 7 inches, was one of the world’s tallest women. Sandy Allen died in 2008. Yao Defen, 36, of China, is now the World’s Tallest Woman, as she is 7 feet 7 inches tall.

    I understand that Zainab’s promotional tour only had about 12 days of work promoting Ice Cream for not much money back in 2006, when she took the opportunity to apply for asylum in the U.K.

    £40 a week and a small council Flat in Stockport is hardly an amazing life in the scheme of things, especially if Zainab had felt intimidated in her past life. Celebrity status is all very well in a poor community on the surface to others, but it does not replace money, opportunities and a feeling of personal safety.

    I believe that Zainab’s original application has actually been rejected by the home office and she would need to appeal.
