Xiangzhong “Jerry” Yang: Cloning scientist Yang died (photo)

Xiangzhong “Jerry” Yang has died. Yang was the first stem cell scientist who cloned the first farm animal in the U.S. Yang had cancer and died after a long fight with the disease.

Yang died at the age of 49. Yang passed away on Thursday Feb 5.

Jerry Yang helped to clone the US’s first farm animal, a Holstein named Amy. Yang’s cloned the animal in 1999.UK had beaten everybody else by creating the world’s first cloned animal in a sheep named Dolly. Dolly was cloned in 1996 in Scotland.
