By Therese Lisieux on June 19th, 2009JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series of books, is being sued for plagiarism. Adrian Jacobs published Willy The Wizard in 1987,some 10 years before Rowling published Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, the first in her series of Harry Potter books.
Adrian Jacobs sent his manuscript to Christopher Little, who rejected it but accepted Rowling’s Harry Potter.
Jacobs’ book was published by a small company and it was called “The Adventures Of Willy The Wizard No 1: Livid Land”.
Adrian Jacobs has died but his estate wants to sue JK Rowling and her publisher for plagiarism. They claim Rowling plagiarized ideas and plots from Willy The Wizard. The lawsuit asks for £500 million.
