William Shatner and J.J. Abrams are having a communication breakdown. William Shatner has been left out in the new remake of The Star Trek. Shatner felt that Abrams had rejected him. J.J. Abrams told AMC in an interview that he and his team tried to create a role for Shatner in the new movie.

Shatner thought Abrams tried to reach and contact him about a role which they did not do so. Shatner told Abrams that he had not been approached. Shatner suggested to Abrams that they should resurrect his old character. Abrams explained to MTV that Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci had written the script and there was no room to include Shatner.
