Alyssa Bustamante, 15, has to stand trial for the murder of Elizabeth Olten. Olten, 9, was killed in Cole County. Bustamante showed investigators where Olten was buried in a shallow grave in the woods.

The judge handling her case said Bustamante is to be tried in the adult court.

Bustamante told investigators she killed to experience the feeling of being a killer.

Olten was strangled, had her throat slashed and was stabbed.

Bustamante has been detained in Cole County jail and was denied bond. Bustamante has a medical history of mental evaluations for her mental health. She tried to commit suicide in the past.

Updated October 23 – What happened to Elizabeth Olten? Elizabeth Olten was found dead in the woods. A juvenile who knew Olten has been arrested. The teenager is a person of interest in the murder of Elizabeth Olten. Investigators are combing the crime scene for clues and evidence.

Elizabeth Olten is missing. Olten is 9 years old and lived in St Martin’s Missourri, outside St Louis. Olten was last seen on Wednesday evening, when she left her friend’s home to walk home. Olten was assumed to be on Route D, west of Jefferson City, to walk home but she never made it back.

Olten’s family called police when she didn’t reach home by 7 pm Wednesday, October 21. Search teams were organized and they began work on Wednesday evening.

Olten was wearing a pink sweater, butterfly design T shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers when she disappeared. The Cole County Sheriff’s Department is in charge of searching for Elizabeth Olten.
