Barack Obama blamed present economic crisis on Republicans for the past 8 years. John McCain said he has a plan. McCain said to stop the spending spree, get energy independent, buy bad home morgages, stabilize home values in US, then create jobs. McCain wants trust back in the system. Obama wants new Treasury Secretary as Warren. Obama wants a middle class tax cut. Obama wants to stabilize home values, like McCain, but warns about the disadvantages. McCain said package is Rescue, not Bailout. McCain blamed Fannie Fae & Freddic Mac failure on Democrats. McCain said Obama received money from F.M. & F.M. and hid their financial woes. Obama corrected he never supported Fannie Mae.

McCain wants to get rid of “cronyism.”

Obama said statistics suggested Bush budgets were responsible for US debts. Cutting more than spending will solve the woes.

McCain gave some specific examples of Obama’s proposed spendings. Eg. a big projector.

Its half an hour into the debate and tough to decide who is winning.

McCain and Obama explained their policies on tax cuts, taxes. McCain wants tax cuts for small businesses.

Tom Brokaw asked about a 2 year timeline to solve healthcare, medicare and social securities.

McCain said he is for a green America. He is for nuclear power. He said nuclear power can create jobs, solve the global warming problem.

Obama said McCain voted against alternative fuels in the past 26 years.

Obama wants to attack Pakistan if Pakistan does not hunt down Bin Laden. McCain attacked him on that. Obama defended himself. McCain responded.

Both McCain and Obama are equally good.
