Updated April 12 2011 – What happened to Jake Anderson’s father? There was speculation that Jake Anderson’s father was depressed over the death of his daughter, Chelsea Dawn Anderson. Keith faced enormous mental pressure, emotional distress and physical pain from his long term injury. He was suffering from illness and needed medication. He may have caved in under the extreme pressure and walked away.
One viewpoint suggests Keith Anderson would never be irresponsible to the remaining members of his family. He could have gotten injured, which explained the blood stain on the keys of the vehicle. It is hard to hold on to hope when Keith was known to have left without bringing his medication and he could not have survived without his medicines.
A conspiracy theory suggested that Jake Anderson’s father could be alive, living in a secret location, under an assumed identity. He could have planned his own disappearance to start a new page in his chapter in life. Or, Keith Anderson may have suffered from a bout of amnesia and forgotten his family members and home. Jake’s uncle Chris may have been the last person in the family to see his dad alive. Keith Anderson, 63, was a popular retired counselor from Anacortes, Washington. Keith vanished from the face of the earth on Jan 6, 2010.
Chris Anderson said his brother visited him on the morning of Jan 6. They shared coffee and small talk. Keith left to run errands, help move some furniture for one of his daughters and then met a friend. Keith wanted to get Oxycontin from his friend, because of his pain. Keith was on Oxycontin originally prescribed after surgery but he became addicted to it.
Keith Anderson was supposed to go to Arlington, Washington, to get some Oxycontin pills and return home but he was last seen in Sultan, 120 miles away from home. The man who gave Keith the pills told the authorities that the deal was done and he dropped Keith off at the car park of a local supermart.
Police said Keith’s bank and credit cards had no activity shown on them since his disappearance on Jan 6. On Jan 22, Keith’s 1999 Ford Ranger was found abandoned on a remote logging road in Darrington. The truck was locked and the keys were found inside the truck. The area was searched but nothing was found.

Jake said his salary goes towards the household expenses and four sisters. He’s sad that he has very little cash to offer a reward to generate leads to try find his father. The family believes foul play may have been involved. However, the authorities said there was no hard evidence foul play was involved.
Some people believed that Keith walked away because he was under pressure, grieving for a dead daughter, in pain, in addiction, in depression and suffering from health problems.

Keith Anderson has high blood pressure and depression. He left home without much cash, clothes or personal items. His cell phone was found in the mud outside his home. His family and relatives believed he met with some foul play. Investigators could not find any evidence of said foul play. Although Keith went to buy some pills, there was no evidence of foul play in the deal. Keith’s relatives said he wouldn’t have taken the pills and got dazed outside home. He would normally return home before consuming any medication.
The Anderson family had lost one of theirs when Chelsea Dawn Anderson died from pneumonia. Chelsea was one of the 5 daughters of Keith Anderson. Chelsea had rheumatoid arthritis and when she contacted pneumonia, it became fatal. Chelsea passed away on Feb 13, 2009.
The official search for Keith Anderson ended on Jan 28 2010. The family and friends are on their own from now.

On Tuesday, June 15, an episode of Deadliest Catch was aired, during which there was a mention of Keith Anderson.
Episode 10, in Season 6, showed Jake Anderson suffering from an injury. Captain Sig Hansen wants Jake to work or leave the ship. Jake needed the money so he chose to stay and work.
Jake’s mother called Hansen to tell him that the authorities found Keith’s truck but there were no signs of him. Captain Hansen told her that he would do his best to take care of Jake by keeping him busy and keeping his mind off the worries for his missing father. Hansen then tried to hide the disturbing news from Jake.
