Western Kentucky University shooting update:WKU shooting
By Clarencia Cynrae on October 22nd, 2008Western Kentucky University is on lockdown. Reports said gun shots were heard fired inside Western Kentucky University. Western Kentucky University, Vice President for Public Affairs, Robbin Taylor, said officers believed a quarrel between a group of individuals was responsible for the gunshots. Western Kentucky University is in the Bowling Green area of Kentucky.
The people involved were suspected to be students. Taylor refused to confirm that campus police were called when weapons were used and shots were fired. Taylor said these were unconfirmed. Witnesses interviewed did not confirm that weapons and gun shots were present in Western Kentucky University.
Western Kentucky University is seured until police give the all clear. Students were notified via text messages on the lockdown. School officials have acted to ensure the safety of the faculty, staff and students.
