Wendy Osborne, 29, of Jackson County, has been charged with the death of Jessica Scovil. Wendy Osborne, a state appointed foster mother, failed to get her ward, Jessica Scovil, out of her parked van.

On Sept. 2, Jessica Scovil died when she was left in the van with an environmental temperature of 85 degrees. Scovil was one day short of being 9 months old. Scovil’s body measured 108 degrees. Wendy Osborne checked on her van after 2 hours but by that time, it was too late to save JessicWa Scovil. Osborne has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct. Wendy Osborne’s arraignment is on Dec. 11.
