Wendy Byrne, 39, a bartender, was killed in the French Quarter, New Orleans. Byrne was fatally shot in an attempted robbery although she did not resist. An assailant shot Byrne and fled without taking her money.

Police distributed sketches of the 3 suspects involved in the robbery of Byrne. Mothers of the two suspects noticed the resemblances of their sons to the sketches and asked their sons to surrender to the police. Two suspects, both 15 years old, are in police custody. Police are looking for the third suspect, who is also 15.

The suspects in the shooting of Wendy Byrne were arrested and booked on charges of first degree murder and attempted robbery. Prosecutors have not decided if they want to try them as adults or juveniles.
