Wayne Carey, ex AFL star, has been released by a Miami judge. Wayne Carey was released on a 2 year probation. Carey admitted assaulting police on Oct 27, 2007. For his restitution, Wayne Carey will donate $500 to the Miami police benevolent fund, attend anger management and alcohol abuse classes.

Wayne Carey has writer letters to express his sorrow and regret to the police men he kicked and elbowed in a hotel room on Oct 27, 2007. Wayne Carey pleaded guilty to the charges that could have sent him to jail for a maximum of 15 years. Carey was not convicted on this charge but he has another to answer. Carey faces charges from a domestic dispute in Port Melbourne in Jan. 2008. Carey pleaded not guilty in this case.

In Miami, Wayne Carey was reported by hotel security after he struck his girlfriend, Kate Neilson, with a wine glass in the hotel restaurant. Kate Neilson wrote a letter to say she did not want to press charges against Carey.
