Controversy -
Mexico did not think that Memin Pinguin was offensive even as the figure was depicted as being a quuestion mark between boy and monkey. It is the original version of the Obama Sock.

Memin Pinguin was issued in stamps by Mexico. The White House told Mexico that racial stereotypes were offensive in 2005. Now in 2008, Walmart is still selling Memin Pinguin comics. When Shawnedria McGinty complained at a Walmart in Texas, the comics were removed from the shelves but Wal-mart has not officially decided if they will pull all the Memin Pinguin comics from all Wal-marts.
