Rep. Vito Fossella’s DUI arrest in Virginia, in May 2008 led him to disclose he was driving fast to see his sick daughter. Fossella’s official wife and children lived in NY.

Fossella was forced to mentionl his daughter, aged 3, who he fathered with Laura Fay. Fay is an ex Air Force officer and congressional liaison. Laura Fay and her daughter live in Virginia. Fossella has acknowledged the implications of his admission and told that he would not seek re-election into Congress in November. Fossella will be tried for his DUI charge on Friday, Oct 17.
