By Therese Lisieux on March 16th, 2009Van Johnson, a popular actor in the 1940 – 1950 era, died on Friday, Dec. 12. Van Johnson died of natural causes. Johnson had lived at Tappan Zee Manor, an assisted living center in Nyack, NY.
Van Johnson had acted in films like “30 Seconds over Tokyo,” “A Guy Named Joe” and “The Caine Mutiny”, “The Bride Goes Wild,” “Too Young to Kiss”, “Go for Broke,” “Command Decision”, “Thrill of a Romance,” “Brigadoon”, “State of the Union,” “Madame Curie” etc. Van Johnson’s contemporaries were Esther Williams, Elizabeth Taylor and June Allyson.
