Ujjwala Raut & Maxwell Sterry: Raut & Sterry divorce lawsuit (photo)
By Therese Lisieux on August 22nd, 2009Ujjwala Raut, a super model who was born India, and her husband, Maxwell Sterry, have some domestic issues. Raut reported to the authorities that her British husband threatened to harm her and their daughter, 3 years old.
Raut had worked for Yves Saint Laurent. Raut was the first Indian to walk the catwalk for Laurent. Raut also posed for Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Raut stayed in the US and overseas to work as a model while Sterry stayed in India with their daughter Ksha.
Maxwell was ordered to leave India in 3 days. Maxwell works as a director of a mining company in India. Maxwell said his wife’s claims were baseless and he wants to stay on and see his daughter Ksha Raut-Sterry.
Raut has filed a divorce lawsuit. Raut and Sterry have been estranged soince March 2009. Raut claimed Sterry was sponging off her, abusing her and refused to let him see Ksha.
Maxwell Sterry said their daughter Ksha is a US citizen as their marriage was registered in the US. Sterry said that the law would require their divorce be settled in the US and not in India. Raut and Sterry were married in 2004.
