A couple in a U-Haul truck was stopped by police for investigation into a report of suspicious activity. The man was detained. The woman, Alisha Mankin, jumped back into the U-Haul truck and sped away. Alisha Mankin led the California Highway Patrol (CHP) on a high speed chase through parts of Los Angeles.

Alisha Mankin left the U-Haul and tried to flee on foot. An officer stopped her and arrested her. Mankin was carged for possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving evading peace officers, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and misdemeanor hit and run. (Update)
