Tyquan Rivera, 14, was charged with assault and attempted murder of a police officer in Rochester. Rivera surrendered himself. Rivera turns 15 next week. Rivera was charged as a juvenile offender but will be tried in an adult court.

Rivera allegedly shot officer Anthony DiPonzio, 23, of Greece, on Saturday, Jan 31. DiPonzio was shot at the back of his head. His buddies took him to hospital in their squad car. DiPonzio was operated on and he is on the road to recovery.
