Tristan Anderson, 38, of Oakland, was seriously injured in West Bank. The Israeli army fired a tear gas canister and it hit Anderson’s head. Anderson has a hole in his head. Photos are below.

Tristan Anderson was in Naalin, a town in West Bank, to protest against Israel’s separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank. Anderson’s condition is life-threatening. A witness in the area described Anderson’s condition as serious.

Tristan Anderson’s girlfriend, Gabrielle Silverman, 25, is keeping vigil at his bedside.

Anderson was one of the tree sitters who staged the 21 month long standoff to try saving the trees in UC Berkeley. UC Berkeley’s Memorial Stadium was constructed on the site.  The construction carried on after the tree sitting protest ended in September 2008. The trees were felled to make way for the construction.
