Thomas E Stringer, a respected and married judge in Florida, was alleged to be involved with an exotic dancer and stripper named Christy Yamanaka. Christy Yamanaka, 47, made claims that she had an affair with Stringer, 63. In addition, Christy Yamanaka alleged Stringer broke the law as he helped her hide money from her creditors. Christy Yamanaka alleged Stringer rented a NYC apartment under his name for her.

Christy Yamanaka made media appearances and newspapers picked up her story. Stringer’s 35 year career in law was blemished. It was unknown if ex Judge Stringer would be charged with criminal charges by the FBI.

Stringer opted to resign in February 2009. Stringer made an agreement not to become a judge again. Misconduct charges were dropped by the state’s body for supervising judges. Thomas E Stringer has retirement benefits totaling $8069 per month.
