Isaac Hayes, a singer, song writer and musician, died on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Shelby County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement that Isaac Hayes died. Isaac Hayes was 65 when he passed away. Please leave a tribute here for Isaac Hayes.

Isaac Hayes was discovered unable to respond by a family member. Isaac Hayes was found near a treadmill. He could have been exercising. Isaac Hayes was sent to Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Isaac Hayes was pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of death of Isaac Hayes was unknown.

Initial reports on the Isaac Hayes’ cause of death was a heart attack and stroke.

Isaac Hayes was famous in the 1970s. Isaac Hayes was an early pioneer in disco, and rap. Isaac Hayes lent his voice to Chef, on the animated show, “South Park.”

Isaac Hayes was an icon with his signature image of a clean shaven head, sunglasses and gold chain. One of Isaac Hayes’ proudest moments was when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. Hayes was modest about his achievements.

Isaac Hayes stood up for his Scientology beliefs. Hayes quit South Park when one episode mocked Scientology. In response, South park creators killed off the Chef character.

Isaac Hayes was born in poverty. Hayes was raised by his maternal grandparents. Isaac Hayes was an orphan when his Mom died and his father disappeared. Isaac Hayes’ talent was first discovered when he won a talent contest singing Nat King Cole’s “Looking Back”, when he was in ninth grade. Isaac Hayes worked at various jobs and played in gigs until he hit the big time fame.

Isaac Hayes is survived by his four children and second wife, Adjowa Hayes. The youngest son is Nana Kadjo Hayes (b. 10-Apr-2006).
