Travis Henry was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Henry has to serve 5 years probation after he is released. Henry had pleaded guilty to one charge of trafficking in cocaine.

Travis Henry: Travis Henry & James Mack arrested for cocaine deal

Travis Henry, ex Denver Broncos running back, was arrested after a suspected cocaine deal. On Wed., Travis Henry and James Mack were announced by the authorities as being arrested on Tue., after they met a person to buy cocaine. This person was someone cooperating with law enforcement. Travis Henry and James Mack were caught in a sting operation.

James Mack and Travis Henry were remanded in custody on the suspicion of intentionally conspiring to distribute cocaine. James Mack and Travis Henry will appear in court next Monday, Oct. 6. Travis Henry’s former lawyer was Harvey Steinberg and he did not return a phone message to give a comment. It was unknown if James Henry had a lawyer.

On Sept. 6, a State trooper and Drug Enforcement Administration agent had caught a car & driver transporting six pounds of marijuana and three pounds of cocaine. A passenger in this car revealed James Mack and Travis Henry supplied the drugs. He was instructed to deliver them to customers in Billings. This man told authorities he was promised $5000 payment for the delivery of drugs and collection of $63,600 in the sales. He was supposed to hand over the money to Travis Henry.This man owed Travis Henry $40,000 in drug related deals. He claimed he was threatened by Travis Henry due to his debt. So this man agreed to set up the drug deal on Tues. He helped officers nab and arrest James Mack and Travis Henry.

Travis Henry was dismissed from Broncos, when the coach, Mike Shanahan felt that Travis Henry lacked commitment to the team. Travis Henry was released on June 2. Travis Henry had signed a 5 year contract that would have earned him $22.5 million. Travis Henry could have been discouraged by a sprained left knee and this affected him during training camp in 2007. Travis Henry had personal issues to deal with. Henry had fathered 9 kids by 9 women. This was known about Henry only when the facts were disclosed in a child support case in Georgia.

Henry had a failed drug test when he was with the Broncos. Coach Mike Shanahan had supported him. Then in June 2007, Henry was tested and his results were positive for marijuana. This was his third failed drug test. Henry was facing a 1 year suspension from NFL if he was signing on with a new team.
