Thomas Beatie gave birth to a healthy baby girl in hospital via C-section. Thomas Beatie delivered his baby girl in a hospital in Oregon on June 29 2008. They waited for several days before disclosing this fact.

Thomas Beatie was born as Tracy LaGondino in Hawaii. Thomas, 34, will share parenting with his wife, Nancy Roberts, 45.

Thomas Beatie/ Tracy Lagondino wore a T shirt with the logo “Define Normal” and mowed the lawn. His wife Nancy did her housework at Bend, Oregon. Thomas Beatie/ Tracy Lagondino had revealed that Nancy inseminated him at home with a syringe. Nancy had a hysterectomy and was unable to conceive a baby. Thomas Beatie/ Tracy Lagondino’s first attempt at pregnancy was aborted because he had triplets from an ectopic pregnancy. The triplets had to be aborted said his doctor. Thomas Beatie/ Tracy Lagondino lost his right fallopian tube as a result.
Thomas Beatie/ Tracy Lagondino has been with Nancy for more than 10 years, out of which the couple was married for a 5 year period. Thomas Beatie/ Tracy Lagondino knew that his family, friends and doctors were all opposed to him carrying a child to full gestation.

Thomas Beatie is writing a book. His autobiography is called: LOVE MAKES A FAMILY: A Memoir of Hardship, Healing and an Extraordinary Pregnancy. It will be released on September 30, 2008.
This book will chart the journey of Thomas Beatie through his transformation from a girl scout/ beauty queen to a fully legal and recognized man with a black belt in marital arts. After being legalized as a man, Thomas Beatie married Nancy. Nancy was a former champion bodybuilder. Thomas and Nancy Beatie went ahead with their controversial decision to have a baby and yet not hire a surrogate to carry the child. Thomas Beatie had underwent gender reassignment surgery but kept his female reproductive organs. The couple decided that Thomas Beatie should get pregnant and carry the child himself.
Nancy and Thomas Beatie refused to give interviews because she explained that they had a book being published in September. They wanted to keep back dome details so that people would buy the book. They have contracts with People magazine & Oprah Winfrey. Thomas Beatie did eevrything to re-define normal. His T shirt printing company is named as “Define Normal.” Would the child define it as normal being carried and born from her Dad?
Matt Rice gave birth to a boy in 1999. Matt was a transgender too.
Nancy’s grown-up daughters, Amber and Jen, support the idea of their new step-sister being born to their stepfather Thomas Beatie.

Well, no matter what we all think, it’s God who will have the last say about all this when it comes right down to it… and I don’t think he is going to be very happy about it. He’s already told us in his word for a women not to even wear anything that pertains to a mans clothing (much less surgically change our bodies to look like one), he talks about how in the last days there will be people “without natural affection,” and that it was an abomination in his sight for a man to be with another man or a women to be with another women (sexually). In the Old Testament God even had such people killed for these crimes of humanity. However, I would like to say that I just mainly feel saddened for this couple because of their gross deception. They are to be pitied. They are going to be the ones who will have to pay for this, now and on judgment day.

LOVE does make a family and they seem to have tons of that. I am happy for them and wish them the best as life for them and, unfortunately, their daughter will most likely be a little rough as people will be intrigued for years to come by this. I think it was because the states of Hawaii/Oregon at that time did not allow same sex marriages so one person in the couple had to change the sex. Tracy Lagodino became Thomas Beatie. Guess they decided between themselves that Tracy would be the transgender woman/man…

I Cor. 11: 14 says, “doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” With this in mind… on the same token as nature would teach us, doesn’t nature itself teach you that the gay and lesbian life style is wrong? It goes against all the laws of nature. In the beginning God created MALE and FEMALE. The Lord said that it was not good for man to live alone, so he made him a help that was meet (fit) for him. He made the man—-a woman, not another man. God was so pleased with his accomplishment that his reaction to the male and female creation for one another, was that “God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was very good.“ It was never in God’s will for it to be any other way. Although I DO have compassion for those who are bound by satan with the gay and lesbian lifestyle, still, in God’s eyes it is a sin. And the bible says that unrepented sin, will bring forth death (hell). No, I’m not the judge…. I’m just the messenger. Do you get mad at the mail man every time he brings you a bill? The only thing wrong with this whole thing is the publicity. If they wanted a baby and a “normal” family life, they would never have made this whole think public. The fact that they went public with “Man having a baby” is just wrong. For one, SHE is NOT a man, SHE still has a female reproductive system. SHE just chooses to live as a man, and there is NOTHING wrong with that.

Everyone has there own different opinion about this story. But on the bright side lets face it he was born as a female and is still is a female in a male body. He/she still got a womans organism in him so getting pregnant wasn’t that of a big deal but they turned it into a big deal “a male pregnant” she is not a male so it shouldn’t be a big deal, and as long as she is a woman she can get pregnant again and again….
It’s a sad story how he didn’t accept herself as whome God made her to be but God has given her a babygirl and I do hope that she will grow up and be someone big in this universe and that she will be satisfied with whom God created her to be and that gender issues won’t be a bother to her….

Will the wonders of science ever cease? Heck, nothing really suprises me anymore because the media keeps looking for stuff like this to incite controversy; they’re playing people like a fiddle with stories like these. Get the “live and let live” people to blogging and the bible beaters to condemning so people can say “aha! there goes the so-called loving Christians saying God is gonna get these people for their wrongdoings” I don’t seem to see a Christian perspective that says “love thy neighbor as thyself” and adhering to “whomever is without sin, let him cast the first stone”. We all live on a planet that’s getting smaller all the time and we all have things that would put us in God’s judgment. I would therefore be putting all my effort into getting myself right with God and loving his creation and let Him take care of the rest. But hey, what do I know?

I am happy for them and their child. So many people have children who don’t even want them and abuse them…here is a family that wanted this child so badly and will love her (not “it”). WHY is that so wrong? All you Catholics and Christians out there who are judging: Isn’t the most important thing we were taught in Catholic school to LOVE ONE ANOTHER??? I’m a medical professional who works in the psychological field. There’s a problem here, which is neither a moral or societal one. There is a medical condition called body dysmorphia. which which a person is addictively preoccupied with changing their physical appearance. It’s the condition that Michael Jackson suffers from. Thomas Beatie suffers from a gender form of body dysmorphia. Body dysmorphia is treatable with counselling and therapy. The problem is that it has become politically incorrect to even hint that such a person might have a mental condition that needs to be treated, even to the point where we doctors are called bigots for even suggesting that such a person seek medical attention.

Jeez, how F’d up is this? 2 lesbians decide one of them is going to pretend to be a man so that they can get legally married to get all the benefits married people get that gay couples do not. They decide between them that the pretender won’t sacrifice her female organs because they both want kids, and the older broad can’t have any (which is further proof of deception. A true transgender would hate having anything female left in or on the body). Word spreads of the pregnancy to the media, and they both play it to the hilt. They’re whores. As holy as the Bible is it was written by MEN and is very out of date. Of course the Bible would convey the beliefs, values and morals that it does because that is what people believed in. It is easier to introduce something to people that they can relate to rather than something extra-ordinary such as the Bible telling people of that era that it’s alright to have many sexual partners, it’s alright to have sex with both men and women and that it’s alright to be different because everyone’s an individual. How would they be able to understand such deep and sensitive topics when the majority of them were unable to read or write let alone think outside the box? Although religion is a wonderful thing in many ways it is also very narrow minded, shauvanistic and too controlling.

We live in a post-modern society. People’s opinions, rights and ambitions should be respected. When I first heard of Thomas Beatie’s story, I admit I was rather surprised, but I don’t have anything against their sexuality, their values, or their way of living, and I certainly don’t believe they are anything less than human. I also do not believe that they will be eternally damned, nor do I deem their actions to be evil or immoral. Yes, they may go against social conventions, but it does not mean that they should be mocked or discriminated against.
To all the religious fundamentalists, perhaps you should rethink the real message that Christians are supposed to live by: “Love thy neighbour as you love yourself”. Too many Christians abide by a literal interpretation of the Bible, when a metaphorical understanding would be much more relevant to today’s world.
As for the publicity concept, no one really knows, and we mustn’t assume anything.
As long as there is love in their relationship, I see nothing wrong with it.
Also, some of the spelling and grammatical errors make me cringe…

America a country of love which is going debased with Murder and SUicide! America a country of happiness which is high in drug and crime! A merica, a very advanced country which has gone from the modern age and are living the lives as they are instinctly moved to! America, a country that, if not careful will not need God or Satan for their doom for they are willingly rushing in to it with their rationalistic spirit against anything that is godly.
I would wish that someone keep a time continuous and regular updated record of what is hapening now. We have seen very loving (lover) end up the greatest haters, very trwemenduous tagged happy people comit suicide and your many Jacksons making us in the third world countries to think they live in satifaction and happiness while they live an inward miserable life of self denial where they are ashamed to be what they are. It is a pity, this is beyond opinion but sheer madness such as is found in the so called developed countries and thank God for the internet. If this is what development mean, may we remain in what you would call backwardness.
Please someone, help us keep the record of this and let us have it in about 15 to 20 years from now. If that time we see a happy family, a loving family, a grown up happy baby born some twenty years past then the experiment shall be deemed successful. but if otherwise. Let the woman continue to use what she know how best to use to make her money. I learnt it is easy to make money there. She remains a woman.

Maybe the Moms are happy, but how is this going to effect the child? People are so selfish, we all care about what is going to make us happy/satasfied,and don’t take much time to care how innocent others (in this case a child) are affected. I have no doubt that they love this baby as much as any parent loves their child, but who were they thinking of when they made this decision? It wouldn’t seem to be their new daughter.
Also I find it interesting that when a christian person gives their opinion relating to what they beleive so many turn around and call them judgemental, maybe you should look at yourself, for you are just as bad, because you turn around and judge that person right back, for having a different view/beleive from your own. Women were created to have babys, not men, so the fact of the matter is, no matter what angle you choose to look at this situation from, at some point in her life this little girl will have issues to deal with, all for her parents selfish desires.
