In London, Tracey Connelly’s boyfriend, Steven Barker, and his brother, Jason Owen, were all sentenced for the death of Peter, 17 months old. Peter was Connelly’s son. Connelly, 28, neglected Peter, while Barker, 33, and Owen, 37, abused the toddler.

The young boy Peter suffered fractured ribs, a broken back and other injuries before he died.

Tracey Connelly received a 5 year sentence. Barker was sentenced to 12 years. Owen was sentenced to 3 years in prison. When they get parole, they will be given new identities to protect them from the public.

Jason Owen and Steven Barker were accused of abusing their grandmother to force her to change her will. She died in 1996 before the brothers could be prosecuted.

In May 2009, Steven Barker was convicted of raping a girl, 2 years old. This case was kept separate from the toddler Peter’s case to ensure Barker getting a fair trial.
