Tony Mandarich was born Ante Josip Mandarich on September 23, 1966. Mandarich was born in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Mandarich used to play offensive lineman for the NFL.

Mandarich was a colorful character during his professional football career. He was nicknamed as “The Incredible Bulk”. Mandarich once issued a challenge to Mike Tyson to fight him. Mandarich was known to have missed some public dates due to his love of alcohol and he suffered its consequent hangovers.

Mandarich did not fulfill the high expectations of him. He offered various explanations. Sports Illustrated March 2009 carried an article on Tony Mandarich and his new book called “My Dirty Little Secrets – Steroids, Alcohol and God.”
