Toni Braxton has a heart condition known as pericarditis. Braxton suffers from an inflammation of the lining of the heart.

In April, Braxton was suddenly hospitalized for chest pains and sparked off a big scare. Braxton was chosen in the cats of Dancing With The Stars to connect with viewers who have health concerns. Braxton will become the icon of a person who has overcome her health condition to pursue her dreams.
