Tim Masters: Masters not murderer of Peggy Hettrick

Tim Masters, 15, was accused of killing Peggy Hettrick, 37, on Feb. 11, 1987. 11 years later, in 1998, police arrested Tim Masters based on a forensic psychologist’s interpretations of his writing and drawings.

In 1999, Tim Masters was tried, convicted and sentenced to life in prison. In 2007, old documents were given to Masters’ lawyers. These documents showed problems with the circumstantial case against Tim Masters. Timothy Masters lost almost 10 years of his life in prison. On Jan. 22, 2008, Timothy Masters was freed.

The defense commissioned a DNA test and it showed partial profiles of 3 men. The defense offered a complete DNA profile of 1 possible suspect.
