TI was sentenced Friday, March 27, 2009. TI, aka Clifford Harris, has allegedly been offered a plea deal that would pass a reduced sentence of 1 year and 1 day jail time.

The conditions for Harris were 1000 hours of community service before sentencing, $100,000 fine, and another 500 hours of community service after his release from jail. It was unclear if TI had completed 1000 hours of community service before Friday’s sentencing. Plus, TI could get time off for good behavior in prison, if the authorities allowed that.

TI landed in hot soup on Oct 14, 2007, when he tried to buy some weapons illegally. When officers searched his house, some illegal weapons were found. Clifford Harris was convicted of felony weapons charges. Friday’s sentencing will be for these charges.

The gossip on TI’s sentencing is unconfirmed. We would have to wait until Friday to learn what will be TI’s sentencing.

Harris said he was mentally prepared to do time. TI said he would be planning on his comeback after his release from prison. Harris does not intend to waste his time in jail.

TI’s judge passed his sentence. It was as written above. TI has to go to prison for 1 year and 1 day, perform 1,500 hours of community service, pay a $100,000 fine, and do one year of home confinement. Without the plea deal, the usual sentencing carried along with the charges would be 4 years and 9 months.

TI had done 1030 hours of community service before his sentencing. He will do the rest of the 470 hours after his release from prison. More on the argument for TI’s plea deal is here.

TI had told the story of how his friend and personal assistant Philant Johnson died in 2006. Johnson was fatally shot in a party in Cincinnati.
