Thomas Tholen failed to report that Bergendorff had an illegal substance so he was sentenced to 2 years of probation. Tholen also has to pay $500 as a fine.

Roger Bergendorff has been sentenced in court on Mon., Nov. 17. Roger Bergendorff tried to exonerate himself by telling the court of his woes with his health, addictions, depression and broken affair. Bergendorff said he made the ricin as an outlet for his anger. Posession of ricin is a federal crime and Roger Bergendorff was sentenced to 3 and 1/2 years in prison. In addition, Bergendorff was fined $7500.
