Thomas Marasciullo: Marasciullo sues Lil Wayne and Birdman
By Clarencia Cynrae on November 1st, 2009Thomas Marasciullo has filed a lawsuit to sue Lil Wayne and Birdman for copyright infringement. Marasciullo claimed the rappers used his voice on some of their songs without his permission.
Marasciullo said he created some recordings of his voice, done in spoken words and styled after the Italians. Marasciullo said his voice recordings were made in 2006 but he didn’t give permission to Lil Wayne and Birdman to sue his voice on their music albums.
Marasciullo said he became aware of Lil Wayne and Birdman infringing on his copyright when his daughter heard Respect and recognized her father’s voice on the track.
Marasciullo said he later discovered Lil Wayne and Birdman used his voice recordings on other tracks like “Like Father, Like Son” and inside Birdman’s CD 5 (Star) Stunna.
Marasciullo has filed his lawsuit to sue Birdman, Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records, the music label that produces the rappers’ albums.
