Updated July 24 – Isaiah M K Kalebu was arrested as a suspect in the murder case of Teresa Butz. Kalebu, 23, was seen in a surveillance video tape and police think they have their man.

Updated July 21 – Teresa Butz, 39, was stabbed to death in South Park. Butz’s partner, a woman, aged 36, was also wounded in the stabbing attacks. The younger woman was treated in hospital and released on Monday, July 20.

Teresa Butz and her partner had planned to get married later this year. Butz and her partner intended to visit Spain in October to celebrate her birthday.

Police are working to discover if a hate crime against a sexual minority group was involved.

A woman was fatally stabbed and another woman was critically wounded by a man who stacked them in their home. The two women lived in South Rose Street, South Park, Seattle. A neighbor, Nicolas Ramirez, said he saw two women with knife wounds on Sunday morning, 3 am, July 19.

Police said the suspect broke into the home and stabbed the women. The survivor has critical wounds and the officers are waiting for her condition to stabilize or improve before talking to her.

The suspect who escaped was a black man, around 20 – 30 years old. The man’s height was about 6 feet and he had a thin mustache. The attacker was looking thin but muscular in stature.

Police are working on the case.
