July 18 2009 – Andrew Scott Haley was indicted Tuesday, June 30, in Hall County. Haley was accused of tampering with evidence and making false statements about a missing person, Tara Grinstead. Haley posted two videos on YouTube that claimed he was involved with the disappearance of Tara Grinstead.

Police said they believed Andrew Haley was not involved in any crimes but did not know his motive for making the videos to claim he knew somethings about Tara Grinstead.

Tara Grinstead disappeared in Oct 22 2006. Grinstead was a regular competitor in beauty pageants because she needed the money to fund her education. Grinstead has disappeared without a trace. Her bank accounts were untouched. There are no plausible suspects.

Missing persons are heartbreaking cases and Tara Grinstead is one of them. Tara Grinstead, 30, a school teacher and ex beauty queen, attended a beauty pageant on the fateful night of Oct. 22, 2005. Grinstead told friends she was leaving for home and dropped off the face of the earth.

Grinstead’s family and friends called Tara Grinstead the following day on Oct 23 but failed to reach her. On Monday, when Tara Grinstead failed to report for work, her colleagues reported her missing to the police. Police visited Tara Grinstead’s home in Ocilla, Georgia. They discovered Grinstead missing and some evidence that she left or was abducted. Grinstead’s two pets were left behind. Ginstead’s friends insisted she would never leave in such a state. There was insufficient evidence to lead to any suspects.

Police have offered two rewards on Tara Grinstead’s case. There is $100K for the safe return of Tara Grinstead and $100K for tips leading to the arrest/ conviction of responsible culprits. Please call 229-468-TIPS.
