Tammy Lee Gibson: Gibson hit former sex offender
By Therese Lisieux on March 1st, 2009Tammy Lee Gibson, a mother, has been sentenced to 3 months in prison for assaulting a convicted sex offender. Gibson hit the convict with an aluminum baseball bat.
Gibson told her judge that laws were needed to keep sex predators away from kids. Gibson had pleaded guilty to third degree assault in January. Gibson did not like the idea of a sex offender living near her home. Gibson learned that a sex offender, Baldwin, had moved into a trailer park near her home.
Gibson went to visit Baldwin’s trailer and accused him of molesting her daughters. The media reported that this was a fake accusation. Gibson hit Baldwin with the bat. Gibson was charged with second degree assault and harassment. The prosecutor and Gibson’s lawyer agreed to seek a 3 month sentence instead of the usual 8 months given for assault.
