Susan Johnson, of Massachusetts, was arrested and charged for stabbing her daughter, 2, about 100 times. Johnson was under the impression she was stalked by a cult. Johnson, 38, was in the laundry room of a Gardner apartment block on Wednesday night, March 1.

Johnson used an electrical cord to attempt strangling her daughter. A security guard and two residents helped to restrain her until police came.

Johnson’s toddler daughter had superficial wounds on her head, neck and torso. She is expected to live. Johnson was described as having had depression in her past. She did not take her medication. Johnson’s lawyer said his client was unable to recall her stabbing incident. The lawyer did not know why Johnson was in the laundry room.

Susan Johnson was remanded without bail. Her next court appearance is on April 17 2009.
