Tommii Cosgrove, an internet commentator, went about posting comments to claim that Steven Rattner, a Managing Director of private equity banking at Credit Suisse, had an affair with is wife, Kelly Cosgrove. Tommii Cosgrove deliberately sppelled Steven Rattner’s name as Steven Ratner.

Tommii Cosgrove’s smear campaign was so effective that Steven Rattner eventually resigned from his job. Steven Rattner did not fight fire with fire althugh he claimed that many of Tommii Cosgrove’s allegations were fake. Steven Rattner endured the embarassment until he was compelled to resign because his reputation had influenced his company.
