Steven Nobles, 20, of Las Vegas, was arrested at Ronkonkoma’s airport in New York. On Thursday, Oct. 16, airport security found in his carry on luggage, a pipe bomb and a knife. His other check-in baggage contained fireworks and electronic circuit boards, .22-caliber rounds for a nail gun.

Steven Nobles told the authorities he built the pipe bomb. From what he said, he meant to create a smoke bomb with a loud noise. Nobles is detained without bail conditions.
