Updated Sep 4 20099 – Steven Dale Green was sentenced to 5 consecutive life sentences in prison Barring an appeal or presidential pardon, Green will not be eligible for parole.

Green blamed the others for planning the attack. He said he was merely following orders from his peers.

Steven Dale Green, a former private soldier, has been convicted of raping a girl, 14, in Iraq. Steven Green was found guilty of killing this girl and her family.

Steven Green’s four fellow soldiers have been convicted. They are serving sentences of between 5 – 110 years for their respective roles in the incident in 2006 in Iraq. They are eligible for parole after a certain length of time.

The jury in Kentucky found Steven Green guilty. Green faces a possible death sentence.

Steven Dale Green was said to have raped Abeer al-Janabi, 14,  in 2006. Green killed al-Janabi, her parents, and her sister, 6. The old story is here with some photos.
