Updated July 5 2009 – Sahel Kazemi’s sister, Sepideh Salmani, has spoken up. Salmani said Kazemi was her aunt but she was raised as a sister to her. Kazemi’s mother was killed in Iran when she was 9 years old. Salmani’s mother adopted Kazemi and raised her. Salmani said Kazemi had confided in her about her relationship with Steve McNair. According to Salmani, her sister gave her the impression she was happy with McNair. Thus, Salmani found it extremely hard to believe that Kazemi could have killed him and herself.

Sepideh Salmani said she believed Kazemi would not hurt a fly and could not accept that Kazemi could have been responsible for the murder of Steve McNair.

Police ruled Steve McNair’s death a murder but have refused to classify Sahel Kazemi’s death as a suicide. If Kazemi had shot herself in the head, the gun could have had a recoil action and may have been thrown some distance away. Yet the gun was found under her body.

How did Steve McNair die? What was Steve McNair’s cause of death? Initial reports claimed McNair died with a  gunshot wound to the head. The autopsies will be done on Sunday, July 5. The cause of death can then be determined.

Updated July 5 – Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi went for a holiday 3 months ago in April 2009. McNair and Kazemi were photographed together enjoying some water sports like parasailing. The pictures are here.

Updated Jul 4 2009 – the woman was named as Sahel Kazemi, 20. Steve McNair had rented the condominium. McNair was found on the couch with several gunshot wounds.

Wayne Neely, McNair’s friend, said he was renting a condominium with McNair. Neely said he found the bodies on Satuday, when he went to see McNair. Neiighbors at the apartment block said McNair visited Kazemi frequently.

Sahel Kazemi had one gunshot wound to the head. A gun was found near her body. Police have not ruled out the possibility that a murder-suicide occurred. There were no signs of forced entry.

On Thursday, Kazemi was stopped by police. Kazemi was charged with DUI even as she refused to take a breath analyzer test. Kazemi’s passenger was McNair. The car was owned by both McNair and Kazemi.

The local Tenessean paper reported that Steve McNair was dating Sahel Kazemi. McNair and Kazemi were described as friends by the police.

Mechelle Cartwright McNair has been informed of her husband’s death.

Sahel Kazemi’s former boyfriend has spoken up. Keith Norfleet, who used to be Kazemi’s boyfriend for 4 years, said he believed Kazemi was misled by McNair. Northfleet said Kazemi and himself broke up 5 months ago but she called him when she needed help to pick up her car after she was charged with DUI, arrested and sent to jail. Norfleet sad McNair paid her bail.

Kazemi had been working at Dave & Busters as a waitress, where she met McNair. Kazemi confided in Norfleet that she had been dating McNair.

Keith Norfleet said Kazemi and himself were a couple who lived together in the past for 4 years. They had moved to Nashville from Kazemi’s family home in Jacksonville, Florida. Norfleet said Kazemi was sweet and believed she would be together with McNair, even when she knew he was married.

Steve McNair, an ex football player with the NFL, was found dead. McNair was fatally shot on Saturday, July 4. In the same condominium, a woman was found dead by a gunshot wound. McNair and the un-identified woman were found inside a condominium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Steve McNair played professional football with the NFL. McNair was with the Tennessee Titans for 11 seasons and went with the Baltimore Ravens for 2 seasons. McNair was the Co-AP NFL MVP in 2003. McNair won Pro-Bowler title 3 times in his career. After his season with the Ravens, Steve McNair retired in 2006.
