Steve Larsen, a cyclist and sportsman, died at 39. Larsen had a heart attack and collapsed. Larsen was on a foot running workout on a track in Bend, Oregon, when he was suddenly taken ill. There were medical staff at hand to assist. They failed to revive Larsen.

Larsen is survived by his wife, Carrie Larsen, and five children. Funeral arrangements are pending.
