Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, died in 2007 while she was recovering from a breast reduction and liposuction. Donda West was supposedly in the care of a registered nurse, Stephan Scoggins, 46, Donda’s nephew and cousin of Kanye West. Stephan Scoggins’ role was to supervise the post-surgery care of his aunt, Donda West.

People magazine had a source which told a story about investigators probing into the death of Donda West, 58. Stephan Scoggins left West in the care of Kanye West’s assistant and a friend while he went away to attend a baby shower on the day Donda West died. In Jan. 2008, a coroner in L.A. said that Donda West died due to multiple post-operative factors. Dr. Adams, who had operated on West, was cleared of responsibility in her death.

The California Department of Consumer Affairs has issued subpoenas to some people to testify on Stephan Scoggins.
