Star Jones has taped an episode with Oprah in The Oprah Winfrey Show. Jones discussed her weight loss and gastric bypass surgery. This episode will air on Thursday, April 2, 2009.

Star Jones said she was so afraid of her weight problem she imagined herself to be 300 pounds all the time. Star Jones admitted she was an addict. Jones confessed to being an addict except she was not an addict to a real diet or a real exercise program.

Jones had surgery for a gastric bypass in 2003. Jones managed to lose 160 pounds after her surgery. Jones related how her doctor told her to make changes or face imminent death.

Jones blamed Barbara Walters for her decision to boot her off “The View”. Back then, there were widespread rumors about Jones having had a gastric bypass and Jones was not prepared to own up to the fact she had one. Star Jones now said she felt sorry she placed a burden on her ex colleagues at The View. The women co-hosts were aware Jones had a gastric bypass but since Jones did not acknowledge it, they did not admit it publicly.
