Stanley Alpert: Stanley Alpert Live To Tell The Birthday Party
By Therese Lisieux on December 20th, 2009Stanley Alpert, a lawyer who worked as a federal prosecutor, was kidnapped on January 21, 1998. Alpert was abducted on the eve of his birthday. Alpert was turning 38 the following day on Jan 22 and he was terrified that he wouldn’t live past his 38th birthday.
Stanley Alpert’s story was made into a special documentary called “Live to Tell. CBS’ Tv series, “48 Hours”, named Alpert’s episode as “Live To Tell”.
Stanley Alpert was kidnapped off the streets of Manhattan on the night of Jan 21, 1998. Stanley Alpert was abducted at gunpoint and held in captivity blindfolded. Alpert memorized clues about his kidnappers and about his surroundings.
Alpert’s alleged kidnappers were named Sen, Ren, and Lucky. Initially, they threatened to kill Alpert but later relaxed and were friendly with him. Eventually, about his 25 hour ordeal, his abductors dropped Alpert off at Prospect Park, in Brooklyn. They even gave $20 to Alpert to take a taxi home.
Alpert was able to provide clues to the police and FBI.
Alpert said his kidnapping was the turning point in his life. He now treasures life.
