Stacey Barker, the mother of a dead girl, has been arrested. Barker, 24, initially reported her daughter missing after she was knocked unconscious. On March 20, 2009, the one year old girl’s body was found in tall grass in an embankment next to the road.

Barker claimed she was knocked unconscious in her car with her daughter. When she regained her senses, she discovered her car was driven to a different spot and her child was missing. Barker had injuries. Police are checking to see if her injuries were self-inflicted.

Stacey Barker changed her story to say her daughter died in an accident. Barker has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Barker’s bond was set at $1 million. Barker lived with her parents and brother. They took turns caring for the family’s first grandchild so that the young girl need not be sent to day care.
