Sonya Raymakers, 17, of Palo Alto, died on Tuesday night, June 2. Raymakers, from Gunn High School, was hit by a train at West Meadow Drive and died. Raymakers was supposed to graduate from Gunn High School on June 10. Raymakers was an aspiring theater program student. Raymakers’ friends were grief stricken by her death.

There was no official information on why Sonya Raymakers was at the train tracks when she was hit by a train.

JP Blanchard, 17, of Gunn High School, died in a suspected suicide at the same train intersection as Sonya Raymakers. JP Blanchard died on May 5 2009.
