“A Haunting in Connecticut” is a movie that releases on Friday, March 27. It is a story of the former funeral parlor in Central Connecticut. The house is in Southington.

“A Haunting in Connecticut” stars Virginia Madsen and Kyle Gallner. The original second-hand owner, who bought after the funeral parlor was discontinued, claimed the house had strange happenings in the 1980s.

“A Haunting in Connecticut” uses fictional names of the people and town to protect the privacy of the residents of the Southington home. However, the real names are used on the movie’s website.

The new owners, Susan Trotta-Smith and her family, found fans of the movie stopping by her house to have a look. Trotta-Smith said her quiet neighborhood has been changed into a stressful and worrisome place. Trotta-Smith loves her spacious home. She rented out part of the large home to another family. Trotta-Smith said they had never experienced any haunting there.

The Snedeker family were the people who lived in the house in the 1980s. The Snedeker family brought paranormal researchers to help get rid of the haunting. Ed Warren and Lorraine Warren

Carmen Snedeker and her Snedeker family stayed in a haunted house. The Snedeker family was unaware they had moved into a former funeral home in Southington, Connecticut.

The Snedeker family experienced strange hauntings. Snedeker asked paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren for help. They asked a priest to help. The priest blessed the house, and held a mass there. The priest did an exorcism and the Snedeker family felt peace.

A TV documentary, “A Haunting in Connecticut” and a book called “In a Dark Place” have described the old funeral home and the haunting. Carmen Snedeker, Zaffis and Chip Coffey have collaborated to write a new book on the old funeral home. Details of the story are at the link.

Carmen Reed gave an interview to CNN to talk about the house. Reed is Carmen Snedeker’s maiden name. Reed said she wanted to protect the privacy of her family and grandchildren so she did not want to use their common family name. Read the interview at the link – Carmen Reed interview.
