Six Flags Over Georgia accident
By Angie on June 29th, 2008A teen boy, Asia Leeshawn Ferguson, of Springfield, SC,was killed at the Six Flags Over Georgia on Sat. June 28 2008. He scaled over 2 fences to reach the Batman roller coaster at the Six Flags Over Georgia. It was unclear why he entered the restricted area at the Six Flags Over Georgia. This was the second Six Flags Over Georgia accident.
The boy and his parents were at the Six Flags Over Georgia park with a group from the Oakey Spring Baptist Church near Springfield, South Carolina.
In 2007, Kaitlyn Lasitter’s legs were amputated in another Six Flags Over Georgia accident.
Kaitlyn Lasitter, a teenaged girl, had her legs were cut when cables snapped on the Superman Tower of Power ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville in June 2007. Doctors were able to reattach Kaitlyn Lasitter’s right foot. Kaitlyn Lasitter had to have some of her left leg amputated and subsequent surgeries.
State officials said that a faulty cable and slow response by an amusement park ride operator were reponsible in the accident. Kaitlyn Lasitter’s family is suing Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Kaitlyn Lasitter’s parents claimed that the Six Flags Kentucky park failed to maintain the ride and equipment. Six Flags Kentucky operators failed to ensure riders’ safety. The Six Flags Kentucky amusement park has denied liability in court filings.
