Simon Cowell: Cowell & Paula Abdul’s salaries

Simon Cowell earns $36 million per season per year. Cowell’s salary far outweighs Paula Abdul’s $5 - 8 million per season. Paula Abdul was supposedly concerned when American Idol brought in Kara DioGuardi as a new judge for 2009. Abdul was certainly unhappy at the huge discrepancy in salary. American Idol’s ex executive producer Nigel Lythgoe told an Australian newspaper that Simon Cowell earned more because of his appeal.
