Sigourney Weaver: Why Weaver excluded from Ghostbusters Rule 2
By Therese Lisieux on March 22nd, 2009Sigourney Weaver, the original star acting as Dana Barrett in Ghostbusters, turned down a role to reprise the original Dana Barrett. However, Weaver changed her mind later but it was too late to accommodate her.
A different leading lady was written into the story. The production could not backtrack to allow the reprise of Sigourney Weaver’s original character.
