India’s Home Minister, Shivraj Patil, has been under heavy pressure and criticism for failing to safeguard the national security of not only Mumbai but the sovereignity of India. Shivraj Patil has accepted ‘moral responsibility’ for the Mumbai terrorist attacks and sent in his resignation to India’s Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. Shivraj Patil had been snubbed in a big public way when he was not invited to some of the discussions with politicians following the Mumbai attacks.
